The GEL-KINSEI 4 features many ASICS advanced technologies to make it a truly brilliant update to ASICS most sophisticated running shoe. The GEL-KINSEI 4 uses slimline materials for weight reduction and stronger materials for added structure and support. Redesigned and re-engineered components improve comfort, fit and performance so that the GEL-KINSEI 4 provides a lighter, stronger more comfortable adaptive platform to enhance natural gait efficiency. A discrete heel unit provides improved support and takes the Impact Guidance System (IGS) to a new level by creating our highest degree of shock attenuation and stability. AHAR+, a thinner and lighter version of ASICS High Abrasion Resistant rubber, features in heavy contact areas of the outsole to reduce excessive wear. For maximum comfort, Cuprothermo, a metallic film, is used in the upper to retain heat in cold weather and release heat in warm weather, while X-40 ComforDry Sockliner gives cushioning and anti-microbial properties for a cooler, drier, healthier environment.

I.G.S.

The Impact Guidance System (I.G.S.) is an ASICS design philosophy. It aims to make shoe components from rear to midfoot and forefoot to work together effectively to allow the body to perform in a natural manner. ASICS designers strive to compliment, not correct, how the legs and feet move.

Propulsion Plate

The Propulsion Plate is a special innovation for the forefoot allowing efficient forward movement.

AHAR

ASICS High Abrasion Resistance Rubber (AHAR) is a tough compound used at the heavy contact area of the outsole, for example the heel. It helps to reduce excessive wear.

Guidance Line

Guidance Line places a visible groove in the mid and outsole that follows the foot's center of pressure from heel to toe. The result is a more adaptive running platform, creating a smoother transition from heel strike to toe-off with each stride. Automatic Guidance Line thus helps runners to maintain a natural, efficient gait, especially over long distances.

DuraSponge

DuraSponge is a blown AHAR compound for enhanced cushioning and durability in the forefoot. ASICS High Abrasion Resistance Rubber (AHAR) is a tough compound used at the heavy contact area of the outsole.

Space Trusstic

The Space Trusstic System is an advanced system that creates a pocket between the Trusstic System device and the midsole, allowing for greater midsole deformation and more efficient foot function.

Heel Clutching System

Heel Clutching System is an external Pebax mold that 'clutches' the entire rearfoot. Replacing the shoe's internal heel counter, it works like an exoskeleton, providing support while drastically reducing the potential for irritation. Besides making the shoe lighter, Heel Clutching System creates a more customised fit for different foot types.
